Each time I cross the border, I look forward to my arrival at the centuries-old ruins of Paquimé. It is located on the outskirts of what is now Casas Grandes, and was named by the Spaniards when they found the abandoned Big Houses in the 16th century.

This site has a wonderful mysticism associated with it and some experts hypothesize that the so-called disappeared Anasazi may have migrated this far south from the four-corners area of the U.S.
