Its meter-wide adobe walls were constructed on a high desert plateau. Only a small portion has been excavated thus far by anthropologists.

Paquimé has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its "exceptional universal value". Every time I visit the museum, I am amazed by its contents, feeling that it holds many times more than its size could support.
