A few months later, Spencer decided to sponsor Juan economically. Knowing that his wife and six children would be comfortable and adequately fed allowed Juan the freedom to devote all of his energies to improving and perfecting his ideas and dreams.
As Juan persisted, he shared his passion, first with his siblings and children and then with his entire village of some 2,400 inhabitants. Now hundreds of people in the village make fine pottery, and the village is no longer poor. Their pots are all hand-made, no potter's wheels are used. |
