Through
Spencer, word began to spread of this unique and beautiful art
form. Colleges and universities began to send groups to study
the processes and techniques developed by Señor Quezada. The fine-arts
community wasn't far behind, buying Juan's pots to sell at high-end
locales from Santa Fe to Arizona and California.
In 1999, Mexico's President, Ernesto Zedillo, awarded Juan Quezada
the Premio Nacional De Los Artes, the highest honor that Mexico
awards a living artist. Juan's work is now found in museums throughout
the world. |
