EVENING VIEW OF AREQUIPA'S CATHEDRAL

The remodeling project of the Cathedral was completed in 2002 after the left tower was partially destroyed by an earthquake several years prior. Indicative of Arequipa's nickname, La Ciudad Blanca (The White City), the Cathedral is built of the unique volcanic white stone called "sillar".
